Today is the first day of the rest of your life. We’ll start with the David Wilcox/Monk Trio show, which won’t happen tonight owing to an accident. But never fear, the devoutly Christian Wilcox (“a near deity in the acoustic music world,” according to Performing Songwriter magazine) will play Wednesday in the FAC with Monk Trio, which features Ric Hordinski, formerly of Over the Rhine, who are near deities in the Calvin College world. The concert happens in the FAC at 8 p.m. $3 for tickets. The inVISIBLE art exhibit (invisible art? Yeah, nevermind) continues this week with a reception tonight from 7 - 9 p.m. inVISIBLE features work by Lynn Aldrich, John Bjerklie, Guy Chase, and Kevin Newhall. It’s in the Spoelhof Center Art Gallery downstairs and stays up until October 2, and those cracker-and-cheese receptions are fun. Filmgoers: If you haven’t seen “Citizen Kane,” here’s a chance. Film Arts Committee is showing Orson Welles’s brilliant, revolutionary, worldchanging, greatest-movie-ever-made blah blah yackety schmackety epic, in the Commons Lecture Hall Saturday night at 8 p.m. Rosebud. They haven’t decided who yet, but someone will put the “Cave” in Cave Café next Wednesday, September 15, at 8 p.m. Cave features local and other artists in the Fish House section of Johnny’s every Wednesday, with the incentive of free coffee. Cool, huh? PromDateCarBomb, an exhibition by artist Cedar Lorca Norbye, shall continue to explode at Dynamite Gallery Project downtown at 609 Lyon Street.
