Campus Safety Report

 

Monday 1/25

-A student reported that in the last two weeks she had received two harassing e-mail messages. The messages were turned over to the Information Technology Department for investigation.

-A staff member in the Geology Department reported that sometime between Thursday 1/21 and Monday, 1/25 a Zip Drive was removed from a PC in the Geology Research Room.

-A student reported that sometime on Saturday 1/23 his wallet was taken from his residence hall room. The student stated that his room had been open most of the day and that many people had been in and out of his room during the day.

Tuesday 1/26

-At 6:13 a.m. Campus Safety responded to a fire alarm in Schultze/Eldersveld Residence Hall. The Resident Director stated that someone had ignited some matches near a smoke detector and that had set off the fire alarm.

-A student reported receiving a threatening e-mail message. The identity of the sender was obtained and the information was turned over to the Dean’s Office for further action.

Wednesday 1/27

-At 1:35p.m. Campus Safety took a report on an injury in the PE Building. A staff member had sprained his ankle while working out in the PE Building. The staff member sought his own treatment for the injury.

Friday 1/29

-A Maintenance Department employee reported that on Tuesday, 1/26 he observed damage to the college sign at the Lake Drive entrance. The plexiglass portion of the sign appeared to have been damaged by a prying tool.

-A student reported that at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday 1/28 he observed a blue pickup truck strike a parked vehicle in the parking area east of Delta Hall and then leave the lot. The owner of the parked vehicle was contacted and verified that there was new damage to the rear bumper of his vehicle.

Saturday 01/30

-At 2:13a.m. Campus Safety responded to a request for medical assistance in Heyns Hall. A student was complaining of shortness of breath and of chest pain. An ambulance was requested and the victim was transported to Spectrum Health East for further treatment.
