Editorial Notes LETTERS TO THE EDITOR must include the writer’s name and class. Letters received without a name will not be printed unless the writer requests anonymity. Letters will be edited for clarity and brevity, and should be no more than 250 words. The deadline for letters is 5:00 p.m. on Monday for print on the following Friday. Chimes hopes to critically evaluate and challenge the greater Calvin community. --To encourage unity and involvement in the community. Chimes serves as an open forum for the discussion of various issues related to Calvin and society in general. Chimes benefits both the producers and the readers of Chimes by providing a round table for constant discussion. --To train students and give them practical experience in the field of journalism. Part of the mission of Chimes is to cultivate strong journalists and prepare them for careers in media-related fields by giving them a real world, hands-on experience, similar to an internship.
