This summer Calvin received two separate gifts of $10 million
each, which constitute the two largest gifts in the colleges
existence. The donations were made by the Richard and Helen DeVos
Foundation and the Edgar and Elsa Prince Foundation, will support
the construction of a conference center and a new Communication
Arts and Sciences facility. The two donations will total $20 million
over a five-year period.

Poster sale edited for content
At the poster sale outside Commons on Wednesday and Thursday this
week, officials from the Calvin Bookstore censored posters that,
according to Keith Johnson of the Calvin Bookstore management
team, contained elements that "would be particularly offensive
to faculty, staff, students and visitors.".

Physical Plant Director Resigns
Jay Timmer, head of the Calvin Physical Plant, an organization
that has over 50 employees, cleans, maintains, renovates and oversees
construction projects at Calvin, stepped down in June after heading
the organization since 1977.
