The Department of Mathematics and Statistics sponsored a lecture last Wednesday evening entitled “New Wine in Old Bottles: Some Recent Results on Fibonacci and Lucas Numbers.” The address was given by Peter Hilton, Distinguished Professor of Mathematics at the State University of New York system; and Jean Pederson, Professor of Mathematics at Santa Clara University.

Calvin Theatre Company’s production “Life is a Dream” opened last evening. The production will run this weekend and next.

Calvin’s Orchestra will hold its Fall Concert on Saturday evening. Among other selections, the Orchestra will perform Dvorak’s “New World Symphony.”

Reformation era Bibles are on display in the library through December 15. The collection includes the rare first-edition “Statenbijbel,” published in 1637. The Statenbijbel and the rest of the assortment may be viewed every weekday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., save the noon hour, in the Meeter Center.
