The 45th Annual Meeting of the Midwest Association of Chemistry Teachers in Liberal Arts Colleges will be hosted by the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry this Friday and Saturday. 150 faculty members from eight states are expected to attend the meeting to discuss the theme Environmental Chemistry in the Curriculum.
Ron Brown, Professor of Political Science at Wayne State University, will speak on The Social Construction of a Black Christ and Local Political Activism Among African-Americans on Tuesday, October 21 at 3:30 p.m. in Spoelhof 301. The lecture is sponsored by the Paul Henry Institute.
The Healing Racism Institute, led by Director of Multicultural Affairs Michael Travis, will begin on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in Hiemenga Hall 315. The Institute will span eight weeks, during which students will discuss problems relating to and ways to alleviate racism.
