Campus Safety Report


Wednesday 2/13

-At 4:10 a.m. Campus Safety found several outdoor directional and information signs and the doors of the Physical Education Building defaced with graffiti. The Grounds Department was contacted to remove the graffiti.

-At 8:55 a.m. Campus Safety investigated a two-vehicle accident at the four-way stop intersection south of the Fine Arts Center parking lot. An eastbound vehicle stopped at the stop sign was struck in the rear by another eastbound vehicle causing damage to both vehicles.

-At 1:30 p.m. a Food Service employee reported that a plant in the second floor lobby of the Commons was missing. The plant was last seen in the lobby on Tuesday, Feb. 12.

Thursday 2/14

-A Grounds Department employee reported that off-campus students were dumping trash into a dumpster at Knollcrest East Apartments. The information on the students involved was turned over to the Dean's Office for further action.

Friday 2/15

-At 10:20 a.m. Campus Safety investigated a two-vehicle accident in the Fine Arts Center Parking Lot. A vehicle turning into a parking space struck the vehicle in the adjacent parking space causing damage to both vehicles.

Saturday 2/16

-At 4:00 a.m. the Residence Hall staff reported hearing an explosion near Noordewier/VanderWerp Residence Hall. The area was checked, and two exploded containers were found. An additional unexploded container was also discovered. Grand Rapids Police responded and disposed of the unexploded container.

Sunday 2/17

-At 8:00 p.m. Campus Safety observed a vehicle driving erratically on campus. The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified. The driver was warned that continued driving in this manner would result in a letter of no trespassing being issued to the driver.
