Annual Classic Film Series: Courtroom Dramas
All of this month and well into March classic American movies featuring a courtroom drama or famous courtroom scenes will be played at the Van Andel Museum Center Meijer Theater. Enter the Guardsman This wonderful new musical, full of romance and intrigue is based on Ferenc Molnar's play, The Guardsman, and tells the backstage love story of an actor and actress who fall in love and begin to worry as the heat begins to cool down. The Magic Flute An ancient fairy tale of a prince and his journey. He runs into a priest villainous serpents and a Queen of the Night as he tries to rescue a beautiful princess. A Woman Named Truth Born a slave, Sojourner Truth was America's greatest woman preacher, abolitionist and feminist. A musical account of her life. Mahler's Third
Mahler's Third Symphony is subtitled `A Summer Morning's Dream,' and he wrote it in the height of the Romantic tradition. It's light, painting a happy picture of life, while also expressing a joyful connection to nature. St. Cecilia Kaleidoscope Series Robert Sims, lyric baritone, is the Gold Medal winner of the Enmark American Traditions Competition and is hailed by critics for his `rich luxuriant tone' in his interpretations of African-American spirituals and folk songs. Annual Dental Health Days
An exhibit designed to bring the world of dentistry and the importance of good dental health to children and adults. Lots of interactive activities, including a giant tooth costume and toothbrush, and an intra-oral camera to make teeth appear larger than life!
