Airband 2001 rocked the Fieldhouse Friday night in a spectacular
show of dance, song and video comedy.
Playing to the packed auditorium, the group The Smooth
Criminals stole the show, winning both the Peoples
Choice Award and the 1st place prize from the Airband judges
for their performance.
This years show was also a pleasant turnaround from
last years controversy over judging and the disruptive
behavior by the audience. Slight changes in judging procedure
led to the declaring of a winner whom most in the stands
felt was clearly deserving of the title.

event.
Those objectives and a year-long dream were
fulfilled for the two this Wednesday night at the Calvin-Adrian
mens basketball game. There, the Fieldhouse hosted
the inaugural performance of the nine women and two men
of Calvin Cheer.

The new approach and style will be designed and implemented
jointly by the admissions department, the alumni and public
relations office, and external consulting firms, but will
ultimately involve nearly every part of the college.
