One of the few remaining peace treaties in the Hope-Calvin
rivalry will be torn apart over the next three years.
While the two schools have long boasted one of the best-known
and most-storied school competitions in the nation, for
almost 20 years would-be competitors in the natural sciences
have crossed battle lines in the joint Hope-Calvin Department
of Nursing. The co-operative effort was started in 1982
when both schools wanted to provide Christian nursing
education for their students but neither had the funds
or resources to create an independently-run program...
