Interurban Transit Partnership, the greater-Grand Rapids public bus service formerly known as GRATA, formalized on Oct. 2 its addition of evening service to nine of its city bus routes, four of which run to or near Calvin’s campus.

A thousand copies of Dialogue, the student arts and literature magazine, were recalled this Wednesday over concerns about a controversial short story about Jesus and Mary Magdalene.

While originally intended for publication Wednesday, most of the copies remain locked away in the Dialogue office, awaiting approval for general distribution.

Calvin squirrels were introduced to an unfamiliar and unfortunate fact of nature this week: predators. The campus landscape, usually dotted with the various feeding, scurrying and mating activity of squirrels, was noticeably barren due to the presence of a hawk.

The hawk is most likely an immature redtail hawk, said biology professor Randall Van Dragt, who is also the director of the Ecosystem Preserve.
